Come One,
Come All

Started in 2022, The Crisis Carnival is a multidisciplinary arts initiative started by MFA students at San Diego State University.  The goal of the Crisis Carnival is to bridge the institutional divide between creatives and foster a stronger arts community on campus and the greater San Diego region. Through hosting showcases and our publication, we intend to promote and celebrate student artists and their work and give them a platform to elevate themselves. We hosted our first showcase in Fall 2023 at the Mingei International Museum, and in Spring, brought together student artists from across San Diego campuses at The Old Globe Theatre to speak their voices. With a showcase once a semester, a magazine, and events throughout the year, the Crisis Carnival comes to town to celebrate the creatives amidst the institutional crises that bear down upon us.  Artists, Designers, Filmmakers, Performers, Writers, Poets, Musicians, All are welcome here at the Crisis Carnival!
